Evansville, the primary city in the 4-county Evansville Region, has a Mayor as the chief
executive officer. The municipal governing body is an elected nine-member City Council comprised of one member from each of the city's six geographical districts and three members-at-large from the entire City.

County Government:
Vanderburgh, Posey, Warrick and Gibson counties are each served by three County Commissioners who act as both the executive and the legislative branches of County Government. Seven County Council members, four elected from districts and three members-at-large, are responsible for all fiscal operations within their county.
