Market Area
Because the population of the region is widely dispersed it is difficult sometimes to get a clear understanding of the population and labor force. Therefore we used EASI Demographics to draw a map of the area using 15,30 and 50 mile circles around the center of Evansville. The population within the 15 mile radius was determined to be over 258,000. Within the 30 mile radius the population was over 430,000 people and within the 50 mile radius of Evansville the populoation is over 675,000. Fifty miles is considered to be the commuting limit for most jobs, so companies considering the region for the location of new facilities have a substantial population from which they can recruit workers.
